Sofia Vasheruk

Sofia Vasheruk was born in Moscow into a family of musicians. With her innate vocation for music, Sofia Vasheruk began studying piano at the Gnessin State Music College at the age of 4 (studio of Prof. A. Traub), and then at the Chopin Music College in Moscow (Prof. K. Knorre).

During her studies, Sofia took part in several international competitions, such as The Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition in Brussels, Belgium (semifinalist); Sigsmund Thalberg International Piano Competition in Naples, Italy (3rd Prize); The International Piano Competition in Enschede, the Netherlands (3rd Prize); André Dumortier International Piano Competition in Belgium (Grand Prix and special awards); The Dutch National Piano Competition “Young Pianist Foundation” in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (3rd Prize) performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ with Noord Nederlands Orkest

In 2012, Sofia completed her studies at the Artez Conservatory Enschede (Prof. M. Markov). In August 2014, Sofia received her Master’s Degree with honors (cum laude) from the Artez Conservatory. Between 2012 and 2016, she continued her studies at Scuola di Musica di Fiesole (Florence, Italy), where she has completed postgraduate studies under the tutelage of Prof. Eliso Virsaladze.

Sofia is regularly invited to play with various orchestras; last years she has played a large number of concerts with orchestras in such venues as Teatro Juárez in Guanajuato, (Mexico), Tchaikovsky Concert Hall of Moscow Philharmonic, Moscow (Russia), Palermo Classica International Festival (Italy), Plovdiv State Opera,( Bulgaria), Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan, (Armenia), Auditorio de la Diputation de Alicante, and Torrevieja Auditorio in Alicante, (Spain ), Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in Amsterdam , (The Netherlands) Auditorio Boa Nova in Estoril (Portugal), working with such orchestras as: , Noord Nederlands Orkest, Russian National Orchestra, Palermo Classica Festival Orchestra, Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Guanajuato, Savaria Symphony Orchester, Romanian State Philharmonic Orchestra, Turkish National Philharmonic Orchestra and many others.

Sofia is constantly engaged in concert activities, always expands her repertoire as a solo pianist as well as being very passionate about chamber music. She is specializing on vocal music (mainly lied repertoire); and also on cello repertoire, touring a lot with different cello players, having in her repertoire an substantial amount of works written for piano and cello.
